Creative Memories Project: Saturday June 6th: 10:30- 12:30 $35.00 covers all costs Plus there will be light refreshments.
Make a Calendar for you Father for Father's Day. We will be scrapbooking with Shelly Roberts and Creative Memories. You will make a one of a kind desk calendar using 12 photo's that you bring from home. Don't miss this opportunity to make a one of a find gift.
Sock Dying Saturday: May 30th 1:00- 3:00pm Saturday: July 11th 1:00-3:00 pm Cost: $35.00 covers all materials and class
Have you been looking for that perfect skein of yarn for a special pair of socks. But just have not been able to find the right color. Well, come Learn How to dye your own yarn, to get the exact colorway that your are looking for.We will be using a variegated dying technique for this workshop. You will have your choice of using natural or Gaywool dyes. Please preregister for this class because space is very limited and class fills very quickly.
Summer Camp (Sheep to Shawl) For ages 7-13 Session 1 June 22nd- 26 tt 9:00- 12:00pm Session 2 July To Be announced
Learn the ways of the pioneers. The children will learn about different types of sheep and fiber animals. Then we will go through the sheering and cleaning process of an actual sheep that lives here at the Store. From there we will learn how to spin the wool that we cleaned by using a drop spindle. Once we have spun a skein of yarn we will spend a day dying our wool with natural dyes and Kool Ad. Then we will spend time learning how to knit with the yarn that we created. The finished project is a small knitted change purse.
If you have and further questions please feel free to call. 717-428-2909. We do ask that parents do not stay. If you need to work out a time schedule I am more than willing to talk to you about that. Cost $150 per child.($100 for the secondchild.) This will cover all supplies and a light mid morning snack.
Yoga For Crafters: Friday, June 26th 6:00pm Fee:$15.00
Are you tired of feeling tense and stiff after a marathon evening of crafting? Do aches and pains keep you from enjoying your favorite pastime? Then come to the Yoga for Crafters class. In this class we will show you how to ready different parts of the body from your toes to your eyes for a session of crafting by strengthening and stretching the muscles that get sore or tired by repetition, tension or simply by being immobile for a period of time. Also, suggestions on what to do for the 'mini stretch breaks' that you can take to rejuvenate you during a long, enjoyable session of crafting so that you can craft even longer!!
This class is for first-time yoga students, beginners or even more advanced students that would seek unique ways to invigorate those 'crafting muscles'. Please bring a yoga mat, block and strap if you have one, however, these items will be available to use at class if you do not have them. Be sure to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing!

Fingers cramped? Wrists sore? Back tight? Yoga for Crafters is for you. Knitters, Quilters, Crocheters, Beaders, are welcome at Sweitzer’s Countryside Knits in Seven Valleys. Lea Brun-Conti is the instructor and will show you how to strengthen and stretch to keep you fit for crafting. You’ll also learn some simple exercises to do at home or anywhere you craft. Friday, May 1st 6:30pm, Fee:$15.00 Bring a yoga mat if you have it. Wear comfortable loose fitting clothes.
Local crafters combine talents to host High Tea and create a Mother’s Day Gift. Creative Memories ™Scrapbook consultant Shelly Roberts and Heather Sweitzer, owner of Sweitzer’s Countryside Knits and Gifts in Seven Valleys met at a craft bonanza day hosted by the Paul Smith Library, Shrewsbury. Heather loves to provide special food events for her customers and thought Shelly’s idea of a card using needle felting would be a great add-on for the event. Saturday May 2nd @12:30pm. Needle Felted Easter Eggs: These have
been a hit. I have been teaching at a Nursing Home on Mondays and I had
a group of about 12 Ladies and boy did we have fun with this project.
On Sunday I was apart of the Craft show that was held at the Paul Smith Library in Shrewsbury and also gave a quick demo on needle
felting and everyone loved it. So I am going to have run a quick class
here at the shop on April 4th from 1-3pm, hope you can make it.
Don't forget that this Friday the 20th is the PJ party here at the store. Bring your unfinished projects and an empty belly.
